My name is Benjamin McElrath, and I’m honored to serve as the owner and president of operations at B&A Trailers. Our journey traces back to 2003 when my father, Mike McElrath, founded this company in Inman, SC. His legacy in trailer manufacturing began even earlier with the establishment of McElrath Trailers in 1985. I joined him in 1999, at just 12 years old, and by 2004, just shy of my 18th birthday, I was fully committed to the business. In 2016, with my father’s well-deserved retirement, I took on the mantle of ownership and presidency, inheriting not just the business, but also a deep well of experience—together, we bring over 60 years of industry expertise.

Throughout my journey, I’ve immersed myself in every facet of the business, from welding and painting to even cleaning restrooms. This hands-on experience has given me a profound understanding of what it takes to build quality trailers and operate a business that’s both successful and admirable. Outside of the workshop, I’m a devoted husband to Lauren and a proud father of six—Judah, Luke, Daniel, Ella Kate, Gabriel, and Mary Grace. When I’m not crafting trailers, I cherish time with my family and engage with my local church community. One of my greatest joys is hosting a weekly cigar and guys' night at my home, a testament to the importance of camaraderie and relaxation amid the demands of running a business.
